Axio alternatives

An Axio alternative for users who just want expense tracking

Axio (formerly Capital Float, the parent of the original Walnut app) is now a credit and BNPL-focused platform. If your goal is plain expense tracking, here's a much smaller tool with a much narrower scope.

Axio's product surface today centres on credit lines, BNPL, and instant loans. The expense-tracking heritage (going back to Walnut) is still there but no longer the primary pitch.

If you want a tracker that doesn't double as a lending front-end, the simplest switch is to a tool that does only one thing. Hisaab is that — it tracks expenses via Telegram and doesn't sell credit, period.

What "single-purpose" actually means

It means there's no second screen. No "You may be eligible for..." card. No promoted offer for a personal loan. No credit-score widget. Just expenses in, structured rows out.

This sounds obvious, but in 2026 it's actually rare. Most Indian personal-finance apps are sub-distributors for credit and investment products. Hisaab isn't a distributor for anything — it's a side project with no business model in that direction.

When you'd rather Axio

If you actively use the BNPL or instant-loan products, Axio's app is where you'd manage them. There's no point switching to Hisaab if your interaction with Axio is mostly about credit, not expenses.

Frequently asked

Was Hisaab built by ex-Walnut / ex-Axio engineers?
No — Hisaab is an independent side project, no connection to Capital Float, Walnut, or Axio. It's open source under MIT, so you can read all the code at github.com/NoobAIDeveloper/hisaab.
Will Hisaab ever add credit products?
There's no plan to. Hisaab's monetisation question (when it comes) is more likely to be a paid tier with higher daily limits — not credit distribution.
Does Hisaab work without the Axio ecosystem?
Yes — Hisaab needs nothing other than a Telegram account. There's no dependency on any other Indian fintech product.
